Aniara
Harry Martinsson's mythical epic poem as a dance and theatre experience with Skånes Dansteater and Moomsteatern.
Aniara is a performance that combines dance and theatre and is based on the Swedish author Harry Martinson's book of the same name.
The earth called Doris in Martinson's story is being destroyed by human activity. The people who are able and authorised to do so are fleeing their home planet. Aniara is the name of one of the ships that travels back and forth between Doris and the Tundra globe, transporting refugees to their new home planet. On the Tundra planets, nature is barren but unspoilt, it is safe.
During one of these journeys, something unexpected happens. Aniara collides with a smaller planet and goes off course.

For me, Aniara is a story about how we humans are bad at understanding our own situation, and how we find it difficult to look critically at what we do.
