Danslördag: Stor prick, liten prick

A warm and bubbly performance, about discovery and mischievous dots for children 3–6 years inspired by the wondrous universe of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. A guest performance by the Malmö based dance company Memory Wax.

Inspired by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama’s universe of dots, Memory Wax invites you to a suggestive dance performance. Together we discover the small in the big and the big in the small. We dare to step into the unknown where creativity and play are our lifelines. They take us forward, backward, inward and outward. We get to know ourselves and our surrounding world, our own fantastic universe.

The performance is created in collaboration with Svedala municipality’s libraries and their project “Read with all senses”. A project that aims to investigate how children’s language and imagination can be nourished by stories and experiences. What happens when they get to experience dance, music and art, and how they think when they themselves get to process what they have seen or heard in their own creative process.

About Danslördag

The last Saturday of the month we welcome all sorts of families to an afternoon at the dance theater, including an acclaimed performance, a mini-workshop if you'd like, and delicious delights in our theater cafe welcoming all ages.

If you want to get a feel for the dance you're about to see on stage, join us in our dance studio for 'Feel It', a mini-workshop where you are introduced to movements from the performance to come. No previous dance experience is required and the workshop is open to all abilities and ages.
