SDT Summer Intensive

SDT Summer Intensive is a unique experience taking place in the heart of our company’s home in Malmö. We offer a 4-day professional training course giving space for creative exploration, artistic development and personal growth through the language of movement and contemporary dance. SDT Summer Intensive welcomes dancers in vocational training or higher education. It is a learning opportunity for dancers in vocational training or in early professional career to gain tools and insights to bring with them into their future dance careers.

Programme Overview

The summer intensive is designed to offer pre- or early professional movers or dancers in vocational training, different dance approaches and styles connected to the work of SDT. The experience will enhance the dancers' technical abilities,improvisational and choreographic skills as well as provide them with information about the industry and its multifaceted professional opportunities, including outside of the performing realm. It is a comprehensive programme equipping contemporary dancers on and off stage. Extracurricular activities of the course include social gatherings and outings, artist sharings, and other activities bringing all involved in closer contact. These activities also give peers the opportunity to form social and creative bonds that can last well after the intensive ends!

Facilitated by a team of dance artists of the company, the participants will engage in:

Dance technique classes (ballet, contemporary, partnering)
Repertoire by Danae & Dyonisios, Mari Carrasco, Anouk van Dijk, Örjan Andersson, and Tina Tarpgaard.
Improvisation and composition sessions
Guidance sessions on CV and showreel preparation for auditions
Q & A’s, extra curricular activites, e.g. social gatherings and outings
