Dance Workshop: Sunday with Simone Frederick Scacchetti

A dance workshop with our company dancer Simone Frederick Scacchetti, a seasoned performer of the ensemble. In our Sunday workshops we spend the day delving into contemporary dance and the choreography of our performances. This is an opportunity for you to explore techniques and material from our current performances together with our dancers.

How does the creative process behind a performance evolve? In our Sunday workshops we share insight into the choreographers' and dancers' work in the making of movement material.

Join our dancer Freddy in this workshop drawing on his acquired knowledge and experiences of working in the field of contemporary dance. Dancing at Skånes Dansteater exposes our dancers to many different choreographic voices, performance practices and working methods.

This workshop is an opportunity to meet with Freddy closely, gain insight into his role as a dancer and experience how he engages with movement and creative process. He will delve into his own artistic interests and share different tools, techniques, ideas and strategies.

The workshop will be two hours of play and lots of movement!

About the workshop

Simone ”Freddy” Scacchetti is a company dancer at Skånes Dansteater since 2023. He is originally from Turino in Italy and began dancing at a very early age. 2010 he moved to Switzerland for studieas at Ecole-Atelier Maurice Béjart. During his studied he danced in several productions of Béjart Ballet Lausanne. After graduating he danced in Zürich and later with Tanz Theater Regensburg where he during three seasons continously worked as a dancer and artist in creations by Marina Mascarell, Stephan Thoss, Giuseppe Spota, and director, choreographer Yuki Mori.

At Skånes Dansteater Freddy has danced in performances such as Erika Silgoner's "Domino", Anouk van Dijk's "Common Ground", Fabio Liberti's "Don't, Kiss Skånes", Marcos Morau's "Djurens karneval", and "The Dropouts" by choreographer Jo Strømgren. This season you will se Freddy dance in "Vår Dag" and "Wing Ding".
