About Aniara
'Aniara' is a performance that mixes dance and theatre. It is based on the book of the same name by Swedish author and Nobel Prize winner Harry Martinson.
In 'Aniara', the Earth is called Doris and it is being destroyed by the way people live their lives. Those who can now flee the planet Doris. Aniara is the name of one of the spaceships traveling back and forth from Doris to the refugees' new home planet, Tundrakloten.
During one of these trips, something unexpected happens. 'Aniara' collides with a smaller planet and starts to drift. What happens to the passengers and staff on 'Aniara'? What do they feel? How do they try to save themselves? What do they wish for most of all?
